[Husk had been quiet post Breach, keeping an eye on the network when someone had pointed out the murders that were going on. He had, at first, tried to message Angel to make sure that he was okay as he hadn't returned to their cabin and he knew he wasn't in his own considering Nuggets had been using the pet-sized door to stay in the shared cabin. His anxiousness hadn't settled down when he heard nothing from him, remaining on edge the entire time.
He had to wait, had to not panic. They couldn't die for real here, right? It was the same deal as Hell and it wasn't like either of them hadn't been through it before. Luckily the pig was the reason he knew to go check Angel's cabin when the small creature had scampered out with a loud squeal.
... And the fact the spider was out of it on the bed confirmed his suspicions. Without a word and being as gentle about it as he could, he'd scooped him up into his arms, holding him close to his body and allowing his wings to cover him while transporting him back to his own cabin and setting him down on the bed, making sure that he was propped up with as many ridiculous pillows as he normally had before grabbing a glass of water and perching on the edge of the bed to watch him.
His tail was already flicking behind him with the anxiety curled tightly in his chest, that and the frown on his lips the only things to give away how much this was eating away at him.]
[There was a soft sound from Angel as he was picked up, but little else, mind fighting against the pain of the death toll to cling to those last few seconds of peace. Seconds became minutes, and without opening his eyes Angel finally managed to hoarsely mumble-]
[He was breathing, alive, fine. He could stop worrying about it as much, though his concerned levels weren't exactly going down as much as he'd hoped.
Until he's hearing those words and manages to let out a huff of a laugh, relieved.]
Hard not to when I'm concerned, baby. [He's setting the glass down on the side table next to him before crawling next to him to finally flop down onto the bed. No touching, not yet, letting him make the decision on if he wants contact or not as he's not sure how bad things are.]
[Everything fucking hurts, but Angel gropes blindly for one of Husk's hands.]
Nuggs okay? [He's not sure how long he's been...well, gone. But Nuggs knew where to go. He's a smart boy. Plus it's easier to ask about his baby than to think about how Husk is handling it.]
[He doesn't have to look for long as he's quick to grab for his hand, grip light and gentle despite himself. Though it doesn't stop him from squeezing his hand just to reinforce the fact that he's there.]
I can imagine. [He mumbles softly, though he's also glad for a turn for some other conversation.]
Was in here most of the time and as concerned as I was. Though he was quick to let me know when you were back in your cabin. [A smart pig, he'll give him that much.]
Good boy. [Boys, really. Angel can feel Nuggs trying to gently headbutt him into rousing, but that's going to take a while, given how it hurts to even turn his head towards Husk and tentatively squint.]
Ain't nothin' ta be concerned about. Ain't my first time~
[At least one of them would be more annoyed at being called boy than the other in this situation. His free hand moves to lightly brush his fingertips against Angel's forehead with a bit of a grin, what an absolute goober.]
Just 'cause it ain't doesn't mean it still doesn't hurt. So whatever you need, just ask, okay? Nothing's off limits. [Somehow he feels he's going to regret saying that.]
Drugs. The real good shit. [He manages a small quirk of his lips, doubtful Husk can or will follow through. Though drifting through the worst of this with no memory would be ideal, he can settle for reassuring comfort.]
Ain't your warden, so can't request that shit without reason. [Sorry, Angel. Not that he was going to do that in the first place while shifting to gently lay his tail over his body as he's sure it doesn't weigh enough to put that much weight or pressure on him.]
... Last I heard, there was a good number of people who got got. But they got it under control. [He... did not get involved with any of it, but that's beside the point.]
[He squeezes his hand in turn and scoots a little closer to him, just in case.] It would. But would it really help you do that whole reforming shit they want inmates to do? [He's... not sure, honestly. It would make their lives easier, he could keep a closer eye on Angel so shit like this wouldn't happen again, but would it really be productive at the end of the day?
A low rumble of a purr is the response to his tail feathers being brushed, figuring that the noise might help a bit.]
You know, we really should redecorate this place a bit.
[He tilts his head a little before shifting to nuzzle into his side properly now, the purring increasing in intensity.] Who says either of us has to leave?
[Oh jeeze, the "we" part.]
... Well, you do pretty much live in here at this point, too? And maybe I'm feeling like it's time for a change.
Mmm. Gotta bring Char here for Vags. And Cherri. And- [That list could do on further that Angel might've ever expected just a year ago, and he trails off with a tired smile.]
I think Vaggie wants to go back to help the Princess with the whole redeeming sinners thing. Cherri, though, not a bad idea in hindsight. [Honestly, he finds the whole thing almost endearing in a sort of way.
Especially since he's calmed down a lot now that he knows Angel is here and he can keep a proper eye on him.]
Dunno if you've noticed that this place is pretty... well, empty, cold? whatever the fuck you call it when it ain't got personality.
