It might be a hold over from when Anthony was younger and slightly more respectful, particularly around his father's best man. He understood that feeling the man sparked in him better with age, and while his inner dialogue and fantasies toy with Valentino or Val, he feels he hasn't earned the right in the waking world.

"Yessir-" he starts, biting himself off with just a nod as Valentino continues. He expects to get at least a little ribbing as the new body on the scene, and not exactly a large or intimating figure at that. He let's himself self out and comes round to case the case, straightening his shoulder so he makes the best impression he can.
