Angel Dust

Since he's been staying with Angel, he's been very conscientious and attentive, even for him, fussing and soothing, making sure he earns his place here (even if that last part's no longer a conscious worry, it's an impulse he can't escape that easily).

After this last bizarre barge moment, though, he decides, just this once, to ask for reassurance instead of offer it. He waits for a quiet moment to sidle up, lean his head on Angel's arm, and say, with a mock-solemnity that masks the real discomfort, "I was engaged to Aerith." There, out loud it's absurd. Angel can tease him until he feels better about the ridiculous parts, and that should help him feel better about the whole thing.
