[Val not saying anything makes Angel nervous, but he's quiet and still, easily manipulated into place and trying not to make a face as he start cleaning up the cuts. They crudely spell out the word 'whore', though his stained fur makes it less immediately clear.]

...you probably won't even be able to see 'em once they scar up, the fur'll hide 'em.

[He only continues talking to fill that unnerving silence, but breaking it feels just as dangerous, and he quickly shuts his mouth again.]
